Maha Shivratri – Its Importance and Glory
Maha Shivaratri is one of the most important festivals of Hinduism. It is celebrated annually in the month of Panguni (February – March) on the night of Amavasi. 1. Fasting

2. Abhishekam
Shiva Lingam is anointed with milk, water, sandalwood, honey, panchamirta, holy water etc. Each Abhishek has distinct spiritual implications:

• Young water – spiritual progress
• Honey – sweet life
3. Om Nama Shivaya Jeba

4. Thiruvilaku Puja
Women perform Thiruvilakku Puja to worship Parvati as an avatar of Shakti. This is believed to bring peace and prosperity in the family.
5. Stay awake all night

Maha Shivratri festival is celebrated with grandeur at Isha Yoga Centre, Coimbatore, on 26th February 2025 from 6 pm to 6 am the next day. The festival features powerful meditations by Sadhguru, musical performances by renowned artistes, traditional arts and martial arts performances, and Adiyogi Divya Darshanam.
On this year's Maha Shivaratri, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Sivakumar as special guests.
